The Original Early July, 1980 Cal Poly Demo recording of Won't Eat Prunes Again was just played for the first time on the Dr Demento Show since it's first airing in 1980 on KMET-FM on this week's show. You can check it out at the link below. The Sound Quality is Perfect! :) Just Sayin'......

That's because you have to BUY it.

I suggest you join the DOC so you get access to high quality shows. I'm planning to do it, and trust me, it's worth it.

Is that the version with the jews harp and the "diarrhea" verse?

If so, that should already be floating around. I found that in FLAC format in someone's web directory once. :-P

Speaking of coffee house recordings, wasn't there one circulating recently of Al and co. doing some Eighties cover?

I don't have that in my archives....

Not only did it have some 80's covers, but it also finally brought forward Orgy On My Own.

I know that - I have "Orgy" and the medley (with "Love To A Bottle", etc) in my archive, but I thought there was something else. Some 80's hair band cover or something.

Not a hair band, but they cover "I Got Your Number (Written on the Back of My Hand)" by The Jags, a great New Wave band I'd never heard of before that coffeehouse show came out.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.
