I googled "American Slob" and came across this...

http://www.barglenawdlezouss.com/lyrics ... ased/6.htm

You will notice that the lyrics don't match the circulating version. Not only are the verses in a different order, but one is a little different, and Al burps towards the end of the song.

Now, I know Dr. D played Al's original demo (which isn't the version on GFB) at Alcon... could this be circulating?!

Eh. Who cares? One version's good enough for me.

Actually, it seems the lyrics were posted by one JB Morris.

And as for wanting another version... well, don't you want a complete set of demos someday? SOMEONE obviously has it... :-)

And yes, I'm going to try and get it. More on that later.

To be honest, not really. There was a time, back in my high school and college years, that I cared about collecting every single bit of Al material, both audio and video, that was available. I had amounted a huge collection of Al television appearances and a whole lot of unreleased songs. But as the years passed, I cared less and less about collecting stuff like that. I think the big break-off for me came when Al started appearing on all those cartoon shows and VH1 specials. All those small, little appearances were not anything worth recording. The only thing in the past few years that I've even bothered to get on tape is ALTV.

"Did you see Journey to the Center of the Earth?"
"I did!"
"Me neither...wait..."
"You had that planned didn't you?"
"..yeah.."

I do hope you got Biography too. Another of Al's TV appearances in the past couple years I love is the W&N performance at that VH1 Awards show.

Segue choreography!

But yeah, "I Love the..." isn't worth the space it takes or the other crap one has to endure to get it.
This means something. This is important.
