Apparently, Al planned to parody Daniel Powter's "Bad Day", but Powter initially refused, although he changed his mind after, but it was too late.

What are your ideas for the title of the parody?

I think "Segway" is good.

Al mentioned somewhere (Rolling Stone?) that the title was "Bad Date".

And this should be in the Music and Record forum.

but could it have carried SOL the way W&N has? We'll never know, but personally I don't think it would have

I guess that's what Al meant when he said we'd get some new concert-only songs this tour... I wonder if "Hairy Back" is in there too. :P

"Bad Date"... hmm, Robert Lund's parody of that song sounds more creative.

I'm guessing "Bad Date" would've been a better choice than "DICYO" for single #2, had it been on SOL...same with "You're Pitiful."

Personally, I'm kind of glad that Bad Date isn't on the CD. There's this weird flash cartoon on this website that my sister loves which is a Bad Day parody also called Bad Date. It really isn't that good.

I agree. Bad Date sounds like it would have been better then DICYO just because I think more people would be able to recognize "Bad Day" then they would "Do I Make You Proud."

I definitely agree that Al should have done "Bad Date" instead of DICYO. That would have so much more potential and it would also be a lot more recognizeable. And if he was going for an American Idol connection, "Bad Date" would still work since the original was used very heavily on last season's AI.
