In two weeks and a day marks the 10 year anniversary of Lady Di's untimely death. To mark that occasion, I thought I would start a discussion thread about Buckingham Blues.
For some reason I remember watching her wedding on tv or I may have seen highlights of it years later, because I was only 5 when she was married. Anyway, the event was so huge, it's easy to see why Al wrote about it.
Buckingham Blues is one of Al's more dated songs. If you weren't familiar with Chuck and Di in the 80's, then you probably won't care for it that much. I like the song although it's chuck-full of rich person stereotypes that probably aren't half true. It's fun though to hear Al's perceptions of British royalty.
Buckingham Blues is a decent song overall. Nothing spectacular but not to be dismissed.
