My Bologna

Wow. No topic for it yet, and its what basically started his career. I really like this song, and the video :lookaround:

Do you mean the videotape from when he was in college? I agree... I think that unassisted young Al being manic about lunch meat is a hoot.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

My Bologna is a great song! It was truly a stroke of pure genius. I really love the original "bathroom recorded" version. The video is great, too.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I enjoy My Bologna very much, and I think the bathroom version is even better than the ALbum version!

I dig that hat in the video! Stylin'!

As an inside joke, I've always referred to the faster album version as "The Extra Salty Remix" I've got way too much time on my hands.

My Bologna=Great stuff. And the best thing is Doug Fieger of the Knack got it right away. He was so cool about it from day one.
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

I need to hear the bathroom version! I don't think I've ever heard it--

It's a great song. I tried to learn it on the accordion but had the darndest time.

I will say this--- the song pops up in my mind EVERY TIME I'm at the grocery and go through the deli.
Aron-- Only the second accordionist to ever sit in the trunk of Torsoboy's DeLorean. Al was the first.

This is an awesome song ... I like it quite a bit (I also like the original "My Sharona"). My favorite line is the one that ends in Oscar Meyer ... just brilliant.

*sigh* The first song I ever heard by Al on the radio. I love it!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I forgot this topic was here. 25 years ago today, Dr Demento played this song for the first time.

<---- note bologna
This means something. This is important.
