World of Weird Al Yankovic

Hey everyone! I'm doing some major research and just wondered if anyone had an idea of which artist Midnight Star was meant to sound like? I've heard it's a Bruce Springsteen homage, but I have yet to find a Springsteen song that is sounds like. Just curious to know anyone's thoughts. Thanks!

Wikipedia once said it was a style parody of "Hold The Lone" by Toto. Aside from the opening piano riff, those two songs sound nothing alike, imo. Besides, I've heard enough of Totos' other work to realize that Al couldn't possibly have been going for them with this one.
