I read in the newspaper a couple of days ago that the Weekly World News was ceasing printing after 28 years.

So, as a tribute to the Weekly World News, I am creating this thread. Tabloids like WWN inspired 'Midnight Star.

Midnight Star is a fun song that I don't tire listening to. Just like Al, the only time I see these tabloids is when I'm passing through the check-out line in the grocery store.

I believe I read in my Permanent Record liner notes that all the headlines mentioned in the song are real ones that Al read in various tabloids.

Crazy stuff. What are your thoughts on Midnight Star?

I love Midnight Star. It's weird, and it's got a decent beat to boot. Catchy song.

As far as the Weekly World News, ABC News did a report. Apparently, there's still a website they have, with archived stories, and they still post new ones occasionally. I read it now and then, when I had the extra cash. Fun stuff.

WWN will continue as a full on website, they are just ceasing the print edition.

As for Midnight Star, it was an awesome song. I really do need to listen to it more.

I could easily picture a music video for this song.

Well, it's good to know that they'll still have a website. I had no idea there was a website for WWN. I don't actually go looking for those stories on the internet.

For shame. This is the same paper that gave us the Bat Boy, after all. That's high class, right there.
