Didn't he explain what it was? I think it might be in the Ask Al archive, in less I'm thinking of a totally different song.

Hmm, I don't remember Al saying what made that sound. All I remember is that Dr. Demento said that the "bong" sound in Eat It sounded better than the "bong" sound in Beat It. *He used the word "bong" instead of "gong", like I've been saying.* Makes me think maybe it was a bell of some sort. It's an interesting question.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I might have a different song. But I remenber him saying that they couldn't figure out how to copy a sound. They didn't know what the original artist did to create it. Maybe I'm thinking of a different song but I remenber hearing or reading it.

Actually, now that I think about it, if you listen to "Eat It" backwards you'll see why it's so evil.

It's one of the only parts of it I've seen (part of the SECRET footage) and it's hysterical.

Can someone please tell me what's up with the satanic Al at the end of the Eat It Music Video? Is that humor, or something else?

A similar thing was done at the end of Michael Jackson's video, though I think it was his video for "Thriller." I dunno. Anyway, Al was parodying Michael Jackson.

Yamijess is correct. It was just a little throw in to parody MJ's Thriller. ;)
