In the words of Al himself...

"It's watever you want it to be."

I think Al probably would spell 'whatever' right, though.

I love this song!! My favorite part is: "I'd rather rip my heart right outta my ribcage and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it til I die" lol

I'm having trouble identifying the the style of music that One More Minute imitates. It's a style from the 40s, 50s, and maybe 60s. Its used in early hollywood movies, and musicals as well. Is it Swing? Cabaret? Casino? Doo-Wop? Surf? Folk? Pop Standards? Could you have your parents or grandparents listen to it so they can tell you? Sounds like something Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, or Nat King Cole could have sung.

The thing that really gave it away was the 3 back up singers. The way they sing Leeeeches and the parts of the song where they go AHH AHH AHH and Dip Dip Dip Dip Dip Dip or Do Do Do Do really fast. Can't really tell!

They sing it when Al starts the line "I'd rather....

It makes me think of those movies or TV Shows where a couple is dining at a fancy restaurant or walking in the park and these three men in white suits with red stripes and hats start singing to them.

I thought it was doo-wop. Hence those "doo-wops".

I actually got to hear this song performed live yesterday. It was the first of Al's music I have heard since my last concert in my tour-chase at Rockford, IL...as I was taking a break to lessen my withdrawal from everything....It was amazing to get to hear One More Minute live again, even though, it wasn't Al singing it. The last time I heard it live was the soundcheck at Fargo, ND, last year...although, that was cooler as it was just me, Jared, and Dan...

I went on a marching band trip to perform at halftime of the Indianapolis Colts-Jacksonville Jaguars football game yesterday. On our way back, we stopped to eat at a very nice banquet place. My assitant band director's wife is part of a women's barbershop quartet singing group that is based with three of their members out of Indianapolis called Change of Heart....They performed One More Minute as their second song...I was like "This sounds familiar."..."I know this."..."It's WEIRD AL!!!"...I couldn't believe they would be doing an Al song, as I had never heard one performed like that before. They did an unbelievable arrangment of the song. This really got me excited again...
