That makes some interesting points. Al definitely does have a better voice, and I enjoy listening to "Yoda" far more than "Lola."
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

As if there weren't enough lame things that annoy me about the place I work, the following exchange took place today when "Lola" played on the oldies station at the office:

WEB DEVELOPMENT CHICK: You wanna hear something funny? When my brother and I were younger, we used to sing "Yoda" instead of "Lola."
BOSS: [Laughs] Aw, that's so cute.
ME: You mean you sang the Weird Al version?
WDC/BOSS: Huh?
ME: Weird Al did a parody of "Lola" called "Yoda."
WDC: Really?
WEB DEVELOPMENT GUY (who I didn't think was paying attention to the conversation but I guess he was): Yeah, it's really funny.
WDC: Huh. Well, I didn't know about it. Weird Al is not really my thing.

Ok, so the transcript doesn't look so bad, but A) it was very clear from the way she said "Really?" that she knew the song existed and was more surprised that she got caught, and B) she said that last part ("Weird Al is not really my thing") in this incredibly condescending tone that really rubbed me the wrong way. I mean, like, you got busted, lady. Just own up to it and don't insult Al as you go down your spiral of lies.

Haha classic exchange. I'm glad I'm not the only one here going through life from one awkward mentioning of Weird Al to the next.

I pull'em out at metal shows all the time. Happened like six times last Friday, wasn't that surprised there was a bunch of other people at the Destruction show who really respect Al, he gets his due! Couple people were talking about how awesome Craigslist is and how it should be on the classic rock radio stations, definitely should, along with all his other awesome originals they don't play. Even though like these metal bands who have been around the same amount of time, he doesn't need to be on the radio to get people to the shows, it would just be nice to hear those tunes mixed in with all the other classic rock you hear over and over again.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

I suppose that if Al got permission when he originally tried to get it, this would've been on the debut album. Which would've meant it would be closer to the demo version with more accordion, that a lot of fans seem to prefer. Ah well. Too bad. Being a Star Wars fan, I love this song. Nothing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned. 5 out of 5.

I prefer the album version personally. Great studio sound.

Cannot believe I haven't reviewed this yet.

This is probably my favorite all time song of all time. I didn't like it very much at first despite it being about Star Wars. I always sort of felt it was belittling the franchise, though I'm not sure why. I guess it just seemed that he was just telling a small part of the story when there was so much more he could tell. Yes, the song is called Yoda, but there was so much more he could tell. Plus the old and gray line was stupid, after all they were done the movies, right? Then one day on the way to a family barbecue it just clicked. I couldn't reach to the skip button so I had to suffer through it. And it was like "Damn, this is a really good song!" Of course by then I had also learned Lola, so it just helped show how perfect the parody is. Since then it really has become a central song in my life. I sing it randomly while browsing the net or playing video games. I sang it at karaoke on my honeymoon. I even had a dream I was an MMA fighter and they played it as I entered the octagon. Oh and the chant! How could I forget that! The first time I heard it, it blew my mind. I wasn't online yet, so I had no idea it was coming. It was just the most random, glorious thing I had ever seen. I was in tears it was so beautiful. And it just grows and grows. Each new tour brings a new sense of wonderment. I want it played at my funeral.

4 out of 5

The Yoda Chant is spectacular live! When I saw it, there was a drunk guy behind me whistling ear-shatteringly loudly during the chant (before security came over) and they still didn't miss a single beat.
