Exactly.

It doesnt' matter if it's an 'original' song or a 'style parody.' People seem to be forgetting that the song's a good song either way. And even if it's a 'style parody', which it is, it's still an original song, based upon the fact that Al wrote both the lyrics and the music.

Just focus on the fact that it's a decent song.

man, posting here can be a bit trying LOL. i love you guys, i mean all al fans are the best, but seriously, i'm not calling the man a hack. i'm just referencing what he himself has said. people said it was an original song, i put in my two cents and said it was technically a style parody, and folks chewed me out for insinuating it wasn't completely original. who cares? it's one of his best songs, in my humble opinion, whether or not it's a devo style parody!
