I just happened across the information that Frankie Yankovic had an LP called "Polka Party." D'you suppose that Al gave the same name to his album as a kind of homage, or is it just that every accordionist is required to record something called "Polka Party?"

Inquiring minds want to know.

I dunno, OE ... but Frankie DOES APPEAR on Al's "Polka Party!".

He's ONLY on the vinyl LP version though.

Two punk kids are reading a magazine on the back of the "Polka Party!" album. The magazine is entitled "Polka World", and Frankie is on the cover.

Your Al fun fact for the day ....

Dr. Dad

P.S. You'd rather an album called "Polka Funeral!"??

Well, no, I'm fine with as many Polka Parties as anybody wants to record, but "Polka Funeral" is an intriguing concept. Kind of like the traditional Nawlins jazz funeral, with a somber march on the way to the cemetery, and then cutting loose on "When The Saints..." on the return trip. I sort of like the idea of a party of mourners making their way back from the interment to the strains of "Who Stole the Kishka?"-- and then going to eat Jello and hotdish in the church basement, of course.

I believe Al said it was named such as a homage.

Well would it kill you to clean my cage once in a while, and fresh water at least every other day? Oh, and while I'm at it, how about one of those metal wheels that I can run around in at night? :sigh:

Well, okay. [rustle, rustle] (that's the clean wood shavings). [splish!] (that's the clean water) [clickety clickety] (that's the wheel).

I was going to give you a cheeseburger, a Coke and (oh, heck, it's all cybervirtual anyway, I may as well go for broke) a BMW to run around in at night, but I guess I'd better give you what you REALLY want instead. Are those wood chips deep enough? And, BTW, are you channeling Harvey?
