I can't believe it! A couple days ago, I won a Christmas At Ground Zero 12" promo off of ebay!!! For those of you who don't know, but should, the 12" promo of that song is super rare, and according to the Rare Items archive at weirdal.com, Al himself doesnt even have a copy! I'm surprized it didn't go up to like $200 just by how rare it is. And yesterday, I got a Polka Party LP, which was the LP I wanted the most for a while. So I'm sitting on top of the world!
I just had to tell everyone.

Congratulations. If it was the same auction that I was keeping an eye on, the bidding shot up pretty quickly towards the end.
As far as the price it ended up as (and I hope this doesn't come off as trying to rain on your parade), I think Bermuda once said that one of the reasons he was debating whether or not to put up the "Rare Items" section on the site was because he didn't want it to affect people who collect Al stuff. Just as an example, a shifty-eyed seller could very well have said "Al doesn't even have this" or "It's listed on his web site's rare section" to try to justify a $50.00 opening bid.
Fortunately I don't think that has happened yet, but still it's an understandable concern.
I'm not saying the Rare Items section should be taken away, mind you. It's one of my favorite parts of the site.

Oh yeah, I can see why Bermuda was debating on that. But, I do thank him for putting that info up there. Because I probably would have passed on that auction if I didnt know that info. And thank god that the auction page didnt say "Al doesnt have a copy", because it probably would have gone up to a much higher price.
And, that must have been the auction you had your eye on, because that was the first CAGZ 12" that I've seen on ebay. Plus, it did shoot way up in price at the last 3 hours or so.
