Couldn't he have just held the 'O' a little longer?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. That's the way I sing it.

But it's funnier the way Al sings it. It's irony. Ya know what I'm sayin'?

Well, I have the original liner notes from Even Worse cassette and the lyrics are "this song's just six words long," even though it is sung otherwise. On the other hand, the song is actually a lot more than six or even seven words long! That I guess is the irony of it. Anyway, the whole point of the song is to mock the repitiveness of the original.

Oh, and about Smileygirl's idea about Polka Party!'s failure being the reason why there was no polka on Even Worse. It could be part of it, but I think the bigger reason was like someone said, Al felt Lasagna provided enough accordian music for the album. Actually, I kind of like that there's no polka on the album, it kind of makes the album unique among the others. But I do agree that Polka Party's failure has a lot to do with why Al has never used the word "Polka" in an album title since! (BTW, as I'm typing this, they're playing "Polka Party!" on AL Radio here in Detroit! That's spooky!)

Not so unique. Or have you forgotten that the Self Titled album is Polka-less?

Al, buddy, you owe us at least one Polka, since you did do that Polkamon one. I'd settle for Til Polka Do Us Part set against the video of your and Suzanne's wedding. It could be the extra added value for the next Album.

No, that one doesn't count. Al hadn't started doing polka medleys until In 3-D, and they didn't become "staples" of his albums until Dare to be Stupid. So I wouldn't expect there to be one the debut album. Plus WAY has accordian music on EVERY song. THAT is what makes the debut album so special. It's completely different from all the other albums in the style of the performances, especially the parodies. But Even Worse is the only album since the polkas began that didn't feature a polka.

Also, Polkamon doesn't really count as one of the polka medleys, it's his only original polka though!

He did polka medlies before "In 3-D." Check out the setlists from the first few tours on weirdal.com. It wasn't until "In 3-D" that he put one on an album though.

Yeah, but look how much accordion was on that album...
