Yeah, when I hear Fun Zone now I'm able to close my eyes and remember exactly how I felt sitting there, waiting for Al to come out on the stage. My memory of that is very vivid, but I can barely remember what happened over the next two hours, because I was in the comatose state of Al Induced Haze. :S

I like Fun Zone, although, I've never seen him in concert, so that makes me sad. ;(

Fun Zone is just... it's like a smell. They say smells are most closely connected to memories. So yes, it is like a smell.

At the concert I went to in June, I had no idea that he was going to start the concert with this song. So as soon as I heard it I thought, "Oh boy! What's gonna happen now!!?"

Same here. I never really got excited at my 2nd show until I turned to my dad, and the dialouge went as follows:

Me: OK, Dad, the first thing you're gonna hear hear is this giant BOOOO---
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP
Dad: Oh, you mean like THAT?
Me: EEEEEeeeEEEEEEEEEEeeee!!!!!!!

Before I even associated with Al concerts, I *loved* this song. It's just got such a great melody!

Shame it's one of Al's most obscure (released) songs though... casual fans probably aren't even aware of that "Fun Zone" song, tucked away near the end of an album a lot of people didn't buy... :-(

When I got married a couple of years ago, we were in the process of choosing our music (other then the traditional wedding march which was a definite.)
Somehow, I managed to get everyone to agree that having Funzone playing while my dad, the minister, and myself took our positions before the ceremony. . .

Man did I get a kick out of seeing everyone's faces...
