I can't see any reason why Orion wouldn't allow a score track to be included on the soundtrack. I think it was probably Al's choice to just include his own music and make it a regular album (with a couple film bits thrown in). He DID give us Fun Zone though, but that was his own composition.

BTW, OE, (on an OT note) about your "acting" remark, I actually thought Al's acting was pretty decent. Not GREAT mind you, but decent for a rock star/parody artist's first real attempt at acting. I actually like Al a lot more when he's playing the straight man to another more eccentric character (Stanley, Philo, R.J. Fletcher, Joe Early, etc.) than when he's being the goofy eccentric character himself.

I don't think OE was dissing Al's acting abilities. Just stating the fact that he did have acting lessons. He said so on the commentary, after all. Besides his acting was great, it was just covered by his bangs.

I kinda wish he had included that little doo wop thing on the soundtrack...

Hidden by his bangs. 100%. ;)

If I only had 50$ for one CD(!)...

(I'm sorry, that is an insane amount of money to charge...)

In all seriousness, I think Williams is probably the best at scoring movies out of anyone I've ever heard.

I know this topic is old, but I sent an e-mail to John Du Prez about the score and I got a response this morning.. Might be a start!

Dear Scott,
Thank you for raising this. Ocean Music does not have the rights to issue a CD
but we will contact Weird Al's manager to see what could be done,
Best wishes,
John

I'd totally buy the score too... I hope it comes out this year.

Hopefully this is worth resurrecting a dead topic but I feel the best way to show support for a UHF Score release would be to write letters. If memory serves, I recall fans encouraged snail mail letter writing to get both "The Weird Al Show" and "UHF" on DVD so I hope that a simple release of the score on a digital distribution site would work out, no?

At the risk of being that guy who revives a dead thread four years later after no one responded last time

I'll be contacting MGM in the morning through the phone to see if I can find out who we should write to specifically at this this address
aaand emailing [email protected]
