You know, I think it's really profound that there is a song called "Trigger Happy" on an album called "Off The Deep End."
This means something. This is important.

One thing I've always wondered about OTDE. I know that Al almost didn't get SLN on the ALbum, but managed to get permission at the last minute from Kurt. If Al wasn't able to get permission, does anybody have an idea to what the lead track could have been? (I know it had to be a parody, but which one?) Did Al have a second song set in mind for the lead track if SLN fell through, or was he just going to decide on one to use afterwards?

OTDE was constantly pushed back because of a lack of lead single, and I think Al's too much of a perfectionist to settle for one of the lesser tracks if he wasn't confident in them before (even moreso, since they were older and less fresh by that point).

I bet he would've waited for something else to come around.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

Smells like Nirvana - My favourite lead parody without doubt - 10/10
Trigger Happy - It's a good style parody but it's not all that funny - 7/10
I Can't Watch This - One of my favourite Al Songs - 10/10
Polka Your Eyes Out - My least favourite polka - 5/10
I Was Only Kidding - It's not the best musically and the joke's been done - 5/10
The White Stuff - Original concept that's well written, I love the original - 9/10
When I Was Your Age - Does it far better than Monty Python, hilarious - 9/10
Taco Grande - The original wasn't the best and Mexican food just isn't funny - 5/10
Airline Amy - Incredibly catchy and quite funny - 8/10
The Plumbing Song - I didn't like the originals and the exact purpose of it is too vague - 6/10
You Don't Love Me Anymore - One of my favourite Al originals, absolutely hilarious - 10/10
Bite Me - Not a song in it's own right, but still, bravo - 9/10

Overall - It's mostly fantastic content but about 1/3 of it is average, but the good ones shine out - 8/10

3 year bump* thats right!
This whole album is awesome and the songs are all 10/10. Although Taco Grande isn't one of my favorites, its a hell of a parody and Cheeck Marin is in it. Was so happy when I saw that they were doing You Don't Love Me Anymore again, thats one of the greatest ballads of all time, mostly cause ballads tend to suck. It's unfortunate though nothing else on this album is ever played, alot of these rock really hard, I Was Only Kidding, When I Was Your Age and Airline Amy make this one of my favorite Al albums.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!
