I love this song. For our Cinco De Mayo party last year I brought in a CD with this song on it. My Spanish teacher got mad at me though, because of the "really stupid gringo" part.

I don't listen to it that often, but I think it's a good song. it's cool how he said he remembered all that Spanish from highschool.
And now for something completely different...

From the Ask Al Archives:

Justin Frazier in Tennessee asks: In the song "Taco Grande", did you make the spanish lyrics during the middle of the song, or did you have someone help you (basically I'm asking if you know spanish)???

I took about three years of Spanish in high school, but I've retained very little of it (I know how to ask where the library is). I had to write Cheech Marin's speech in English, and then have a Scotti Bros. employee (who was a bit more bilingual than me) translate it into Spanish for him. (Oddly enough, Cheech isn't that fluent in Spanish either.)
I was elected to lead, not to read.

hmmm... I thought I saw some where that he translated most of it, and got help later. Anyways, I was happy when I heard the song and could actually understand it. :P

I can easily picture this as a music video. Too bad it wasn't (it's much better than You Don't Love Me Anymore).

I like Taco Grande. I thought it was better when "Rico Suave" was still hip than I do now.

But I REALLY can't say I think that it is better in ANY way than YDLMA!!

To each his own. :D

I kinda like it. I really do.

Plus, a few friends and I have a saying now, because of this song. "Senor la cuenta por favor" from this song. Doesn't mean anything, but we just end up laughing. Stupid, I know.

Nobody likes this song.

[FONT=Arial] There Was a Cover of this song on Disney's: Ratatouille Whats Cooking? CD, I was surprised that there was actually a cover of this song on that CD. I would buy it if I had money right now
