Well, it would seem that we have been granted permission to start topics specifically about our favorite songs. Well, here is mine. "You Don't Love Me Anymore" has been a favorite of mine for a very long time which I will tell about later. Right now I'd like to hear what you think about the song. Also, there's something I've been wondering. Was it ever performed live? If so, please tell about it.

Did he perform it in the shirt from the video? That shirt always makes me think of the Puffy shirt from the Seinfeld episode.
I love the whole Twisted Love Songs genre (gender?) and I like YDLMA, but it's not my favorite of the group. That honor would have to go to either I'm So Sick Of You, or Good Enough For Now. GEFN could be a serious country song.

I love YDLMA too, for lots of reasons. The music really is pretty, and when Al imitates that "sad love song" sound, he inadvertently shows that, yeah, he does have a voice such that he could certainly have succeeded as a serious singer if he'd been so inclined. And the joke that underlies the song is one I can enjoy over and over again. I have to work regularly in the domestic violence court, and that song is a wonderful one to have stuck in your head in those circumstances. Al has taken a painful truth, the unwillingness of victims of abuse to realize the truth of their situation, and exaggerated it to the max. And the fact that it's a man singing it helps the humor by adding the element of turnabout. Men can be victims too, it's true, but from what I've seen, less frequently. It's black humor, yeah, but it's really funny humor too.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

The video is so great. Without the video, I don't think YDLMA would have been as good. Great song.
