"Back in the U.S.S.R" was definitly supposed to be like a beach boys song I think. That would be why "Trigger happy" would also sound similar.

The first time I heard this song, it had been put to an AMV using Trigun, which is all about the wild west and gunfights. I keeled over and just about...say it with me...died laughing. If any of you ever get a chance to see that AMV, I highly recommend it, cuz it just goes so well with the song.

This song had me in stitches the first time I heard it. Also, my Dad, although very tolerating of my love of Weird Al, does not personally adore the music himself - but he does love this song, purely because of the Beach Boys 'sound'.
