What's the story behind Talk Soup? It's on the TV Album. Where was it used originally. I didn't see it listed on any of his studio albums. Is this a TV Show theme?

i'm pretty sure Al was approached to write the theme for a show called Talk Soup, he wrote it and recorded it but they never used it

but maybe someone who knows can shed some light?

That's pretty much the story, KnottyEmily. When Al submitted his song, the folks at Talk Soup said they liked it, but they never used it. Their loss, our gain. I like the song. Talk Soup was a show on E! Entertainment Television. It is now called "The Soup". Basically, they pick out stuff from different talk shows that they find amusing, show clips, and talk about them.

Btw, Leonard Cohen, it is indeed on a studio album. That would be Alapalooza.

There is a topic for this song already, right here.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
