Oh, that reminds me!! I wanted to suggest the exact same way to "fix" Bad Hair Day, by replacing "Syndicated, Inc" with "Headline News"! I haven't tried it yet, but HN is from mid '94 and the originals on BHD were recorded in December '94, so it's not that crazy of an idea.
I'll give that a shot after this last stop on the JACKSON PARK EXPRESS!
Could "Headline News" improve Alapalooza?

"Headline News" actually works surprisingly well in place of "Syndicated, Stink"!

When I compare them side by side, I think I actually prefer Syndicated Stink to Headline Boooooo's!
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

Since I posted in the "could Off The Deep End improve Alapalooza" thread, I kind of feel obligated to provide my two cents here...
Commercially, no. I don't think "Headline News" would have been any better of a lead single than "Jurassic Park" was, as I could see sales falling off a cliff once the stories referenced in HN became yesterday's news.
Quality-wise, maybe. It would depend on what HN replaced on "Alapalooza." I wouldn't miss most of the originals on the albums, to be honest.
