This song is pretty poor. Musically, TBITB did a swell job. But other than that, it's definitely my least favorite on BHD.

I really don't like Syndicated Inc. it's not fun to hear or really funny at all. Celine Dion makes funnier songs than that.

I feel Syndicated Inc. was kindof a rushed song. It could have been Al trying to fit one more song on the album, and he quicky wrote it. Though, that's probably unlikely, because he's said in the past where it isnt like in college where he isnt thinking the song he's writing at the moment is going to stick with him the rest of his life, now, he IS thinking, "Any song I release is going to stick with me the rest of my life".

I'm just trying to think of a reason Al would write a clever-less song. But, I do like this song because of the style of music, and the accordion solo. I do agree that it isnt anything spectacular lyrically.

I know for a FACT that that Ozzy song listed before has inspiration to TNSWC, because a part of that song sounds exactly the same, almost.

Bruce the Duck @ May 8 2004, 12:20 PM wrote: Everybody points to that ONE attempt at a joke to say that the song is funny or "has its moments," but really what's so funny about it? It doesn't really make any joke specific to "Regis and Kathy Lee." That same line could be rewritten about any number of TV shows and still have the same effect.

"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'Seinfeld' and 'Mr. Bean.'"
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to Mayberry RFD."
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'Wheel' and 'Jeopardy."
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to watching 'Three's Company."
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'Beverly Hillbillies.'"
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'The Partridge Family.'"

Well, maybe it's just because I would definitely think I was losing my sanity if I was addicted to Regis & Kathie Lee(or Regis & Kelly, or whatever it is now). I agree with you that it's a weak song. The Regis & Kathie Lee line is the only time I laugh during the song. I love the accordian solo though.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Maybe Al was being so clever that the joke is on us instead of in the song!

Plus I happen to enjoy the song! That means I like it alot!

I guess I'm in the minority in this thread too (see Gotta Boogie), I actually like Syndicated Inc. I know it's not all that funny, but the vocal is good and the accordion solo is one my favorite Weird Al musical interludes.
This means something. This is important.

Getting back to why he didn't just do a Soul Asuylum style parody instead of both, I gotta say it's probably because SA was never that big a band. Oh, they were a respectable band with a handful of good sized hits (And the big one, Runaway Train), but they never stood out.

Look at it this way though: If we never got Syndicated Inc, we probably never would've got the "Runaway Train" bit on AlTV/Al Music that year, so hey...cut your losses there

(And I love the accordion solo)

Celine Dion makes funnier songs than that.

All her songs are funnier than Al's. What? You think she's serious?? :P
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

I like Syndicaed Inc. I agree this song isn't funny. But he sings it good, and its not bad to listen too. And its three times better then Gotta Boogie.
