Its hard to believe that there hasn't been a topic for this song yet. Its one of my favorites! The lyrics are random and funny, and I enjoy the music as well.

I can't believe it either. I love that sort of breakdown section that sounds kind of like surf music.

One of my secret wishes (well, not so secret now that I'm posting it on the Internet which is readable by the WORLD!) is to hear this song recorded again or even performed live (can it be performed live?) in Al's real, non-nasal voice. This is one of those songs where, IMHO, Al was trying too hard to make a song that was plenty funny enough already, thank you, even funnier.

I am a huge, huge They Might Be Giants fan, and one of the biggest shames of my life has been how I didn't even begin to guess this was a TMBG style parody until I first got on the net in 2001, went to the mothership (First site I went to online! :D ), and read it in the Ask Al archive. It seems so obvious, and I totally didn't make the connection!

But regardless, I loved this song off the bat....I liked how it was a different kind of humor for Al, more random and bizarre than anything else, and I loved the tune

This was like the second Al song I ever heard. I thought he sounded like the duck-billed platypus from the Tazmanian Devil Cartoon!

I like the accordion part during the Bridge.

A little story about this song and its impact on my life:

In, oh, I'd have to say it was ninth grade, I was in a foreign language class. We had to choose songs to translate and then perform for our class. I chose EYKIW. It went over rather well. The language you ask...American Sign Language. Needless to say, I needed a glass of water when I was done.

You performed it in sign language? That must have been awesome! Good for you!
