Heh, I think I actually heard "Terrible Lie" before I heard "Germs" and I was like... woah.

Yeah, "Germs" is essentially a "Terrible Lie" parody, except for a "Closer"-esque intro and outro.

The Alternative Polka had Buddy Holly?

Something new to me that I didn't know until today, is that The Alternative Polka had an extra verse from Buddy Holly that was omitted from the song at the request of Wheezer. Al has the "near finished" clip on his youtube page right here:

I was intrigued when I found this and a little upset this didn't make it into the song because it's great. I started thinking what would happen if someone were to take this clip and edit it back into the song?

That's what I've done. Some may think it's a good thing. Some may not. I've uploaded the altered version of the song on Megaupload for your convenience. If you think of it as pirating then just download it, listen to it one time and then delete it.

You may notice a big sound change from 2:58-3:13. That's because the Buddy Holly clip is unmixed and unmastered so it's not quite as clear as the finished song. Let me know what you think.

Now knowing that he has this, I wish he's edit it back into the song and release it somehow. It desperately needs to be mastered and mixed.

As much as I love this song, I think Alice in Chains should've been included in it somewhere. They had an album out around that time.

A grunge polka would've been really cool.
