Best Parody Target

Post by TMBJon »

Forgetting about the now well-known Weird Al parodies, which of these five original songs do you actually like the most?

You may find this surprising, but I actually love the song "Misery". It's hands-down the best song parodied on this album. "Lump" would be second, but a distant second. I just wish Al had done something more creative with the "Misery" concept.

In order:

Misery
Lump
Gangsta's Paradise
Phony Calls
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kilmeade

If it had been a better U2 song, this one might have been close, but "Lump" is the clear winner for me. PUSA! PUSA! PUSA!

Despite not liking Syndicated Inc. much (but definitely not hating as much as Jeremy does), Misery is definitely my favorite. I really like the medley. If Al had only written better lyrics for his parody, the song would be much higher on my list.

But..."The Alternative Polka" wasn't one of the options... This is only about the parodies.

Oh, did you mean "melody?" ;) #wordcrimes (someone needs to create a Word Crimes emoticon)

Misery... with Lump as a very close second.
