First off, I couldn't find a topic for this, but if there is, feel free to lock this.

My second question is Whether Al actually sang this or not. The voice just sounds too deep for him. I thought it might be Bermuda.

Thirdly, feel free to use this thread for other TDS discussions.

It's definitely Al singing. I just hope it's not extremely autobiographical!

He sang it in the morning when his voice was lower, I believe.

Its quite possible for Baritenors such as Al to have a lower range, but just use it infrequently. It's him singing.

I usually consider myself a Soprano, but have the range down to a First Alto. I sing Alto in one of my choirs (we didn't have enough in that section), but Soprano in the other two.

I *love* that song! It's my daughter's favorite Al song. I love filling my car up with my son and his friends and playing it. (They scream like girls when they hear it.)

It is definitely Al. I read somewhere her, I think, that he had voice lessons at some point and really extended his range. Headline News is pretty DEEP too!

It would be soo cool if he sang the Truck Drivin' Song in concert ... I can see it now... :oo

I see Al in poodle covered pajamas, scratching his back and singing at a venue at 3 in the morning.

I've never HEARD the term "baritenor" before. Can someone more musical than I explain it?

BTW, Dumb Noob is right. Al sang Truck Drivin' Song first thing in the mornings, before his vocal chords warmed up. Which is the reason we'll never hear it in concert, unless Steve sings it.

Actually, Steve in a pink angora sweater would be darn funny, but it wouldn't be very kind to do that to him.

I'm kinda disappointed that he doesn't hit the low note on "White and Nerdy"... I can actually hit that low note, if my nose is stuffy. ;)
