No , it's an original by AL.

I'm not sure of the title of the NIN song I was thinking of, but in the video and song he says "Help me" and "I want to feel you on the inside". The singer is also floating on his back in circles and there's a scene where he has goggles on. Plus there's this bald guy who is facing sideways and then he turns and looks into the camera. You only see his head.

That song is "Closer," although "Germs" actually has more in common with another NIN song, "Terrible Lie."

If I didn't know any better, I would think that Germs is an actual parody of "Terrible Lie" :?

Yeah, it's basically a perfect rendition of "Terrible Lie". (Listen to TL closely - the music even changes at the same places as in "Germs".) It *does* have a bit of "Closer" though - the beat at the beginning, and the piano at the end. I think this would've made a cool video... I wanna see Al float in front of the piano too!

I once attempted (and gave up on) a mashup called "Lying Terribly Close To God", which basically was a NIN mix replicating Germs. It works good, try it! :P

Actually, that's "...feel you from the inside..."

Oh yeah, now that you mention it, I do recall that part of the song from Nine Inch Nails. I was thinking the same thing as I heard the song the first time. What a funny coincidence.
