I always thought the jokes in this one were kinda old, but I did gain a whole new appreciation for it when it came on my random winamp as I was formatting a bio of a very serious, orthodox rabbi for a free-lance project. I couldn't stop laughing.
This means something. This is important.

I love this song, too! One of his best, and better than the original song.

This is a song that really shows Al's vocal range. Even just thinking about singing along hurts!

I'm not Jewish, and my stepfather and sister are Jewish by blood, but not by religion.

Do any of you know the John Lennon song "Happy Xmas (War is Over)"? Well, when my family sing Christmas songs the past 5 years or so, I can't keep myself from singing:

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
With bagels and schmear

...inspired by "Pretty Fly for a Rabbi", of course! :) It's become sort of a mini-tradition now, and my mom also sang those words last year. (We're a silly bunch.)

hehe, that's funny! I like those alternate lyrics.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

The songs pretty good but it's short. The original wasn't a bad song either. Very nice plus I learned a fair bit more about Jews. Hey, does anybody else get the inherent "briss" joke?

Great song, one of my favorites on RWS. The original song is so ridiculous, the parody is way better.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the Dark Side Of The Moon .

It's a pretty common misconception to think Al is Jewish for some reason. I've run across that assumption many times. Anyhow, I love Pretty Fly for a Rabbi! It's a really great song, and really funny. I love the part where it says, "Oy Gavalt! I'm so ferklempt that I could plotz!"
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.
