QUOTE Burning a backup copy isn't illegal, is it?

I don't know for sure...my guess right now in the middle of the night in which I am highly suggestible would be it's not illegal, but with the measures studios and labels have apparently gone through in recent years to make copying as frustrating as possible, it just may not be worth the headache.

'Specially if they screw up computers now.

Dear John Fudz,

All we know is that Party at the Leper Colony is an original on there. The rest we won't know UNTIL the album comes out.

Sincerely,

Sarley27

I don't know if it's illegal, but I think any record company would have a tough time winning a case against someone who burned one backup copy for their own personal use. Besides, it wouldn't be worth their time and money to even try to. Not to mention all the bad PR they'd get out of that one.

I would think thay they're more interested in the nabbing the big bootleggers who makes copies and offer to sell them.

Ha, nice avatar Dave... instead of Cat In The Hat, it's Cat IS The Hat!

As for Poodle Hat not playing on a computer, I can't say at this point. I know that Zomba has toyed with making discs unplayable in CD-ROM drives, I have a recent disc that can't be read or played on my computers.

Did I miss something? When was it officially announced that P@TLC would definitely be on the new album? I thought we were still speculating.

In apost called 'New Song Proof', I displayed an email from Bermuda, which he later backed up, stating that P@TLLC IS indeed on there, since concert only songs are only parodies and short (usually)and it was "pretty obvious".

There you go.

From what I understand, making your own backup copy isn't illegal, but selling the burned copies definitely is and giving out many copies is a no-no.

Too bad my law book is so out of date it can't include a section on this.
