This is usually the track that I skip while listening to Poodle Hat. I just don't really think its funny in the way that Good Ol' Days wasn't. That makes me a little unknolegable about the song, so I came to ask, what's different about the Al & Ben Mix? It sounds, pretty much, the same to me.
You know, this song's rhyme scheme kind of falls apart during the song...

This one's my favorite from PH. I just think the lyrics are hysterical. I do agree that the rhyme scheme seems to be a little off throughout the song, but it's still pretty funny.
The Al & Ben mix is just Al singing and just Ben's piano IIRC. It's not really that different but it's nice to have.

I like this song. The rhyme scheme is fine if you pay attention, folks. All the even numbered lines rhyme. I like that. I also like the Al and Ben mix.

I absolutely love this song. It's my favorite original on the album. I also really like "Good Old Days." The subtle humor combined with very pleasant, easy-going music in these two songs is brilliant.
And I agree with Patti. There's nothing wrong with the rhyming scheme.
BTW, good idea for this thread, Driew!

I think this is one of least favorites on PH. I don't find it funny. So I don't know about the rhyme scheme. But the music is great!
I think Ryan started this topic!

Have you considered seeking other employment opportunities, Allison?
