Didn't I read somewhere that what he did on Hardware Store was to use ProTools to take out or shorten some of the pauses between words? Thus explaining why he's still singing at his normal pitch, which wouldn't have been the case if the whole thing had been sped up.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
