Wasn't it in the syllabus of required Weird Al readings that you got when you joined? No? Oh, well, then, look here.

Well, considering how I joined before Poodle Hat came out, I don't see how it could have been. :P

Thanks for the link.

Wow. When I heard there was a song on Poodle Hat called "Genius In France," I figured it would be about Jerry Lewis. Then the CD came out and it was right around then that I read GIF is actually an homage to Frank Zappa. It's a Zappa style parody, we all know that--with Dweezil on that dweezily electric guitar, no less--but since I missed Al's mentioning that this is indeed a Lewis tribute, I just assumed Zappa was the Genius in France.

Forgive my ignorance, Zappaheads. FZ was a bit before my time so I don't know his life story--other than he's dead, and that he was taken to task by Tipper Gore over naughty lyrics or something.

Ahem... oh yeah, that's the thing. I wanted to buy some Zappa CDs because of Al, but the song titles ("Cocaine Dreams" or something like that) made me not to do it...

Geeze, sounds like a song about the 1980's. :lookround:
