Along the same lines as the bowling and poodle posts, I have always noticed Al's fascination with the name "Bob." Here are some examples. Can you think of any more?
"Is it Sam or Joe or Fran or Bill or Bob or Clyde" from TWAS
"Bob" the song! Duh!
"Prince is kind of a stupid name. Do you mind if I call you Bob?"
"You named them all Bob ..." from TWAS (name all of the presidents contest)
Bob from UHF
Bob, Bob, Bob

Okay, try these BOB's on for size:
Bob the Janitor playing the accordion on "Peter And The Wolf".
He also asks Ozzy Ozbourne if he can call him "Bob" in that Ozzy AlTV interview [and several others].
One of the fish in the infamous coffee table fish tank from VH1's Al episode of "Rock The House!" was named Bob.
Al named one of his accordions [the small red midi accordion, IIRC] "Bob".
And from the Mothership:
From "Ask Al" Q&As for November, 1998
Geri Mason of Hackettstown / NJ asks: Can you name all the Spice Girls?
Sure. I hereby name them all Bob.

I also found this other BOB at the Mothership:
[quote]From "Ask Al" Q&As for March, 2000
Scott Snyder of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin asks: Was Harvey the Wonder Hamster a small guinea pig on one of your MTV specials years ago or was I just drunk?
Harvey was, in fact, feeling a little under the weather that day, so his pal Bob
I don't recall this one. Is this a gag answer, or was there a guinea pig in one of the AlTV's??

Either there WAS a guinea pig, or Scott Snyder was drunk. But it sounds, from Al's answer, as though there was a guinea pig. "Hey, I'm a prop man, not a mammalian biologist!"

It's from the 96' Al-TV. During that special, it's very easy to tell Al is holding a guinea pig during it.
He's also asked Prince (or whatever he's called nowadays) if he can call him Bob. Then also Robert Plant, but his name goes with Bob anyway and so many other Al-TV interviews that have that question.
"Can I call you Bob?"
