Don't worry Grom, I agree with you.

Phillipemoz, good idea! I found it funny because there's a furniture chain called Freedom! Heh! But you know how you said "so we don't offend anyone"? Well if I think about it seriously, I find that version offensive. I know it's completely different, but the whole boycotting thing brings Nazi anti-Semitism to mind.

Yes, I think the very phrase "Freedom Fries" sums up everything that's wrong, oversimplified and darn ignorant about the whole situation. And that's not just my opinion.

I'll go listen to some Al now until my rage subsides.

El

on a lighter note, yesterday I came across a funny French palindrome

"eh, ca va la vache" it means "hey, how's the cow?"

I agree with you Patti. It is annoying. I'm not sure if it's true or not but, I did hear that the French were calling American Cheese "Idiot" cheese. Serves us right for being lame enough to rename all our food that sounds somewhat French. I never went along with all that hype anyway. It was just to childish. And it takes a lot for someone like me to say that.

Although I am anti-French i still think the French/Freedom thing is kinda silly. The other day I was at a baseball game going to the bathroom, I saw this sign that said French Fries and I said to a freind of mine, "man they're gonna need a lot of white out!". Crazy, I still think we should use American Fries anyway. Doesn't matter, after a few more of these posts someones gonna be mad at me!

Ok so a couple of idiots in one state represent everyone in America right? Sheesh...besides if you have ever been to Fracne, the people are very rude to you, even when i went 1995. They deserve all the bashing they get. The stuck the knife in our back during this war too, even though we sacrificed thousands of our men to liberate their country.

See the world, just dont see France.

Here are some funny jokes I got on an e-mail recently:

Did you hear about the new French flag? Its a white cross on a white plain.

Did you see the French Army guns on Ebay. The description says "never used, droped once."

Q. Where do you find 70,000 French jokes?

A. In France.

Actually French fries aren't necessarily French.

Some people think Belgium was the first country to fry potatoes.

But Americans were the ones who cut it up into little pieces and fried it.

Of course, Belgian Fries doen't sound any better.

I'm pretty sure French Toast isn't French either.

Most "French" foods were called French to make them sound sophist-a-macated.

I don't know about French braids, kiss, bread, onion dip, doors, dressing, poodle or leave. Not sure if those are French.
