Seems like this one is starting a classics vs. modern war.

I gotta go with Lose Yourself here. But don't get me wrong, I love Piano Man. It's pretty close in my book.

My favorites, in order:
1) "Lose Yourself" - thanks to Al, I am now an Eminem fan (parody video refusal notwithstanding)
2) "Piano Man" - it's a classic
3) "I Want It That Way" - Al had to tackle the late 90s/early 2000s boy band phenomena somehow, and the way this song has become a modern classic, he definitely made the right choice
4) "Complicated"
5) "Hot In Herre"

Just as Alpocalypse was my "college years" album and SOL was my "high school years" album, PH is my "middle school years" album - appropriately enough, the album was given to me as a graduation gift that June.

No kidding! Those three albums fit that exact same timeframe of my life, too! Nice to have someone else closer to my own age on this forum!

Tough choice, but for the opposite reason this time. I despise hip hop/rap, so I wasn't at all familiar with those songs. I don't care for boy bands, so that eliminates BSB. I didn't grow up listening to Billy Joel so I'm not a huge fan. I had at least heard Complicated on the radio several times and wasn't repulsed by it, so Complicated gets my tepid vote.

Billy Joel for sure. Just 'cause I wanna pick one of these and still respect myself.

Complicated, obviously. This might be the one song where I almost know the original words better than the parody. Also I Want it That Way is ridiculous and I love it. I love singing the lyrics to it in parts of Ebay. It amooses me. :sheep:
The rest of these I don't really care about or like. :magic:
