I certainly wouldn't go that far. Yes, they seem to be making up some controversy regarding Al but that's no reason to call these Grammy-winning producers "stupid." I was able to understand every word of what they said perfectly.

Anyway I would really like to get to the bottom of this: some sort of official word from Al or Bermuda clarifying what happened here.

Here's a new claim. I don't know who this guy is, but check out this tweet:

u remember that song white n nerdy by weird al's stupid a**...THAT WAS MY smurf

So, it was this guy's idea first, perhaps? I think that's the implication.

I know he didn't actually act on this, but, his negativity just bugged me.

Awesome controversy!

I'm pretty sure someone with spelling and grammar that bad probably couldn't have come with a far-out idea like that.

That's racist.

Grammar is not a race.
Grand Prix, however, is. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I think something was being implied there. At the very least, this is racist:

I don't think that statement was racist, either. Kinda mean, but not racist.

As far as the spelling and grammar from the statement I linked, the only thing I could see was that this person shortened "you" to "u". A lot of younger folks like to do that in internet speak. There was some slang, but nothing else was spelled wrong.

Last I checked, might as well have been speaking Chinese is a saying that's been around for years. Maybe racist, but hey, I'm sure the Chinese say "Might as well have been speaking English".

I think there's a difference between not understanding "hip hop talk" and out and out racism.

But that kind of discussion has no place here. Let's not go down that road any further, please

Anyway, I have no opinion on the first claim because I highly doubt it has any validity, but the second one's the same bull you hear with every popular Al parody. It's impossible to think Al is the only one who ever thinks "Hey that works, I'll do it!"
