I just FINALLY got my album today! :oo My brother in LA bought it for us (on day of release!) so I could get the US dual-disc version and the mail was just suuuuuuuuper slow...

So far I'm less impressed than I hoped. :( Seems less hyper than previous albums. But anyway, I wanted to comment directly on Polkarama... because I was disappointed in it.

Simply put, it was TOO SLOW. A large part of the fun of the polkas has always been the crazy speed. But this just felt like it draaaaaagged.

I dunno. The whole thing will probably grow on me, and I'm of course glad to have more Al material, but I'm not excited about seeing many of these songs live. Even Polkarama. It just feels uninspired, like so much COULD have been done with these songs to make them sillier, but instead they're just sung normally over a polka beat. A slow polka beat.

*sigh*

You need to give it time. Most people on this board got the leak weeks before SOL was even officially released. And all his polkas have been pretty "uninspired" since "The Alternative Polka," if you ask me. Not that they're bad, they just don't compare with the rest of the albums.
taste is only something if it is yours.

I made a depolkafied version a while back. I don't remember exactly where I posted it, though...
