BERMUDA and the rest of the band spend countless hours inside giant coffee cans to get the right acoustical effects. The only exception to this was with the song "My Bologna" which Al recorded by himeslf in a mens's restroom.

I thought it was done in Al's split level cave 20 miles below the surface of the earth...

no no no, they just got Harvey Leeds to sit at his desk and do the whole thing. There wasn't actually any instruments or anything!

OH, BTW, you may want to check out the official site's latest news for a few kernels of info on the recording process.

Actually, they're reading this over my shoulder. Steve says hi.

:sleepy: and then I'd wake up... :sleepy:

Okay, back to serious...does anyone know who else records where Al does? That could clear things up.

I thought he recorded at that place in the Rockin the Suburbs video with "Rock" and "Suck" levels...

I think he records at that place in Santa Monica with the gray walls and what looks like really uncomfortable furniture (as seen in the weirdal.com photo gallery) As for who else records there, well... QUOTE

I was kind of surprised that Marilyn Manson would allow you to use his song (\"The Dope Show\"), I figured he'd be very apprehensive about that.

I actually haven't met him, but Marilyn seems to be actually a pretty cool guy. In fact, he was in the studio right next to me when we were mixing the album, so even though I didn't actually meet him, I talked to one of his guitar players, and I burned a copy of the polka medley as soon as we were done with it, so Marilyn Manson was actually the first person ever to hear the polka medley! QUOTE New studio for this album: Mad Dog

Thanks, Bermuda!

Not Santa Monica, Burbank.

They've got Al on their list of "artists who record here" but they can't spell "weird" either. :stern:

Hope the furniture's comfortable.

--OE, wondering if "Poodle Hat" is a tip of the hat to the studio.
