Kimo is the Hawaiian word for James or Jim and since Jim spends a lot of his time in Hawaii and writing slack - key songs, the nickname is very fitting.

Ack! I didn't mean to say definition! But Kimo is a name that is interchangeable as Jim in Hawaii. I've got a few friends that go by Kimo here on Big Island. Thanks for pointing that out Dave!
