Really nice interview. Interesting what he had to say about "stage fright." And I'm glad he actually likes doing meet & greets (though admittedly the vibe is very different at the slack key festival vs. an Al show)
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Thank you for posting this interview! Nice hearing from Mr. Jim

I would love to talk on the phone with him

Hey, did anyone notice how he kinda hesitated when the lady mispronounced Yankovic? Haha!

Ah, I didn't think it was much of a pause. I'm still listening. Quite interesting. That concert he mentioned is on my mother's birthday. If she were still with us, she'd be turning 80.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Well to me it sounded almost as if he was going to correct her. He should have :)

Finally had a chance to listen to this yesterday. It was an awesome interview!

I wasn't familiar with Jim's music before this, or the concept of slack key guitar. I was looking it up on Wikipedia, just when the interviewer asked Jim to explain it, and saved me the trouble.
