I got this from Jim last night:

===================================

Aloha everyone!

I will be performing at the first-ever Southern California Slack Key Festival, January 20th, 2008 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, along with the legends of slack key: Dennis Kamakahi, Cyril Pahinui, Ozzie Kotani, Makana and many more. Please join us for a day of slack key, Hawaiian food, crafts hula and plenty aloha!

Visit www.socalslackkeyfest.com for info on tickets and accommodations.

Mahalo and see you there!!

I'd love to go and I would if I wasn't going to Australia and New Zealand in April.

By the way, I really mean it when I say seeing Jim perform non-Al stuff is pretty amazing. Jim subbed with Steve (Ak & Zuie) and that was an awesome concert. I had never seen Jim just play and jam and let loose before. It was quite a sight to behold:

Yeah, this event is filled with extremely talented slack key guitarists. Even if you come just to see Kimo, you will love listening to all the other musicians. Sounds like it's going to be a big event.

Wow an event happening in California when I'll actually be in California.

I totally want to go but at the moment I can't make a full commitment because I'm not sure what's going on for my anniversary (It's our first!), so It's all about funds, and figuring out where I'll stay. I should know before Christmas though.

So the Hotel Rates at the Marriott are $114.00 per night, which isn't that big of a deal but it's a HUGE suite and that's an awful lot of space for just one person, and considering I was only going to stay one night (I'd be flying in from San Francisco), so if anyone wants to share a room or something that would be awesome!
