I originally posted this in the Surfing topic, but decided to start a topic for it just in case someone from the Columbus area can go.

Visiting artist: Jay Levey, producer & director

October 18, 11:30 am

auditorium

Jay Levey has accumulated more than 20 years of diverse industry experience as a personal producer/director/manager. In 1981, when Levey switched to personal management, among his first accomplishments was to discover and sign young musician/comedian who went by the name of Weird Al Yankovick. Recently Levey produced and directed Blues Story, a documentary on the history of the blues told through the eyes of the remaining first-generation artists, which aired on PBS in fall 2003. It was subsequently released on DVD by Shout! Factory, and was called “The Best Music DVD of 2003” by Soundstage.com.

I'm assuming it's for this year. And it will be at Columbia College of Art and Design. I don't know where that is, but if anyone can go to this it would be fun to hear back about it.

Looking a little deeper on the website...

I think I may try to go to this. Although, it is pretty far away. Seems like it'd be pretty interesting.

Allison, can your friend at least call (since it's not long distance for him, I presume) and find out if it's open to non students?
