Well I'm asking it, because I know Jon didn't do it all at once. Like change from one beat RIGHT to the next. Yes, I DO give Jon mad props! I'm just asking, if you split it up, and play each "section" separately are the individual sets themselves challenging? :?

Forget it.

Hmm, well, you don't know that he didn't sit down and play it all at once, do you?

Anyway, split up or not, it's still pretty challenging stuff. Why wouldn't it be?

I'm pretty sure Bermuda said that they didn't do it all at once... Bermuda?

Yeah, I like Gump, too, with that really fast bass drum footwork :) . But I must say that I think Bermuda's at his best in the polka medleys, but for individual songs, I htink it's a tie between Genius in France and Albuquerque, mainly because they're both so long, but for GIF, it's just so varied and changes styles so much throughtout the song, like Zappa songs, I guess....:lookaround:..OK, I'm done now. :P

I know nothing about drumming, but I LOOOVE Bermuda's solo in the Live! Video. :P
Carpe Musica

I'm not being condescending, I'm too busy thinking about far more important things you wouldn't understand.

You don't have to know a thing about it to know when you've heard awesome drumming. I just have more respect for Jon because I've been drumming myself for 20 years. I'm not nearly as good as Jon, but, I know how technical it can get. And I still say GiF is definitely his best drumming, divided up or not.

I'd say I'm most impressed with Albuquerque. Jon had to keep that consistent beat for 11 minutes.
This means something. This is important.

That's a good point, El. I know I get tired after half that amount of time. I'll count that up there with GiF. That was 9 minutes, which is still a long time, but he also had all those different rhythms to play. I honestly don't recall Jon saying he didn't play those parts straight through.

Thats a good point. I don't know if they've ever played these longer songs straight through. They could have been recorded in parts. Has anyone asked?
