Definitely. I'm not sure if it's because I had heard a few of the tunes at the two gigs that I've been to, and I'm just more familiar with them. Or if they are just that good. Could be both. Either way, really enjoying them.

Jim did another lovely little set (only an hour, but hey, it was FREE) at the Manhattan Beach Public Library tonight. Mitch Chang sat in with him on ukulele for a few of the songs. A few of the songs off his Christmas album, several off the new album. I'm really really liking the title track.

Christmas show tonight at Coffee Gallery Backstage, with guest bassistShawn Ishimoto and hula dancers!
Coffee Gallery had a guest chef.... if I'd been inclined that way, I could have had a pulled-pork sandwich prepared by a chef who used to cook for President Clinton in the White House.

No posts for nearly 2 years - yikes. (of course I haven't been here for a long while either
) Who's been seeing Jim in his Slack Key gigs lately? I didn't think it possible for him to keep getting more fantastic... it's like there's nothing he can't play - and it's so musical (and makes it seem so easy). He really takes to you Hawaii for the duration of the gig. Great stuff Jim!!

Jim just posted this to Facebook:

Attention comrades, you will all be given important and confidential information early tomorrow. Long live the revolution.

Well some dates happened to align, and it turns out my wife and I will be honeymooning in Maui over Christmas when Jim is headlining a couple shows on the island. We're going to try to see him on Christmas Eve at the Slack Key Christmas show he's headlining!
