also one of the greatest moments in saturday night live history is "burt reynolds" changing his name to turd ferguson.

Agreed!

Wow anybody would think Al had gone all "Lonely Island" all of a sudden!

I actually think that "cutting the cheese" stuff (a euphemism I've never heard before) sounds like something Great Grandmama might have said.

"turd" "smurf" "crap" "crud" "scat" "log" "richard" "floater" etc all refer to exactly the same thing yet some are apparently acceptable and some not so much. Shakespeare had plenty to say on that subject

Surely the whole point of the song is the fun/ romantic mood of the tune juxtaposed against lyrics that are in meaning quite the opposite
(also true of Party In The CIA)
