It's not doing too horrible, but not great either. Three weeks in the Top 100 is pretty OK. :) I wonder how much it sold.

I'm sorry to say that this album wasn't the firecracker we thought it'd be...

Eh I had a feeling it wouldn't be. Perform This Way just isn't that strong of a lead single.

I think Al needs to just make an album within the next year and try to get that hit single. I know he can do it. He did it with "Dare to Be Stupid."

Alpocalypse Chart Watch & Speculation

There's a better chance of me getting elected president than there is of another album coming out in a year.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I don't know... He did it back in the 80s. I think generations are starting to forget him if he keeps up this 3-4 year cycle... :(

I'd personally rather have a good album than a popular one. ;) *

Can't take #9 away from him.

*Edit: Whoops...realized that could be seen as a knock on Al. I mean good over popular compared to other artists who are forced into recording an album a year just for sales reasons ;)

I gotcha. And I really think this is a good album too. But in the 2000s we only had two albums, whereas in the 90s we had four (of which three went platinum and one went gold) and in the 80s we had six (of which three went platinum and one went gold). Granted, some of those were hit and miss, but I would really like a new album every two years. That would be awesome, and I think that would be the magic number for Al.

If Al did an album every two years, and did the kind of tour in support of it that has become customary, he'd have precious little time with his family. Not gonna happen. Besides, I'm not sure there's even enough really good parodiable stuff out there to do every two years.
