I have no need to look at your profile. You are old.

So, I just looked up Jim Steinman on Wikipedia after learning that this wasn't a style parody of Meat Loaf exactly. I felt incredibly smug when I saw that Steinman produced and wrote Holding Out For A Hero and Total Eclipse of the Heart, because when I first heard this song, I thought that parts of it really sounded like those Bonnie Tyler songs. That Al was able to capture that sound, in addition to the sounds of so many other artists in this song, is just more proof that he's the best ever.

Well I wouldn't say he got the sound of different artists, he got the sound of one song writer who happens to be recorded by other artists. And thinking about it, this is the first time Al style parodied a writer as opposed to a particular singer or group, right?

Definitely hear Air Supply in this, too. Especially in the piano during the breakdown at the end.

I am WAY older than joseyklein, and I knew what Snopes was. But then I have a dear friend who is always forwarding that crap to me.

Well, I think it sounds as if Al's starting to be serious (Ex.Skipper Dan) Because in the beginning-0:35, it sounds like a cheesy love song!

I think that's the joke.

It's also nothing new. Al's done many songs that start out sounding like they're serious heart-felt pieces before the jokes start. Examples - You Don't Love Me Anymore, I Was Only Kidding, Good Old Days, Why Does This Always Happen To Me, She Never Told Me She Was A Mime.

For now, it's my favorite song on the CD. Reminded me of DDTS. :yay:
