That post reminds me, are there any traditional polka compositions (like "Beer Barrell" or "Nina Bobina") that Al used in this that anyone else here recognizes? That opening bit and the part between "Break Your Heart" and "Tik Tok" had to have been something like that...I'm sure if there are, thatn they'll show up in the writing credits of the actual album...

I think it's just an original composition as it usually is.

Having heard the new Polka now, I really hope he changes it up a lot when he records it from the album. In it's current form, it just doesn't flow well at all, the melodies for a lot of the songs just don't connect to one another, and the whole thing sounds really disjointed.

The version that's on YouTube I think flows together quite nicely. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it seems very likely that he already recorded the song, seeing as he has said on the record he has three parodies left.

He did a good job, picking what was popular, It's not his fault that horrible music is popular XD. Out of the whole polka, there are only 1 and 1/2 good songs. (Fireflies, and So What is okay).

Missed it at the concert last night. Gonna have to check YouTube.

Friend I went with thought we'd be able to leave at a later time and I told him not too. We left early, but traffic was brutal.

Just found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGdgmtsh-eU&NR=1

this guy made it in May, and some parts of it are spot on identical to Al's.

(specifically poker face, tik tok, fireflies, and baby baby)
