"GOOD OLD DAYS"
Points: 85
Highest ranking: #2
Album: Even Worse
Track number: 11
Style: Original, in the style of James Taylor

Unexpectedly, one of Al's lesser known songs starts off the Top 20. The lyrics finds our narrator looking back on three disturbing incidents from his twisted childhood -- torturing animals, tormenting a shopkeeper, and punishing his high school girlfriend -- all the while set to gentle soothing music. Al said that the inspiration was to see if he could write a song as if Charles Manson and James Taylor were collaborating. He succeeded.

"EBAY"
Points: 85
Highest ranking: #4
Album: Poodle Hat
Track number: 11
Highest Billboard chart position: 115 (US Hot 100)
Style: Parody of "I Want It That Way" by The Backstreet Boys

Sharing the #20 spot with "Good Old Days" is a song with a unique story behind it. "I Want It That Way" had already been released for 2 months When Running With Scissors came out. Almost four years later, Al tackled the song for Poodle Hat, setting his sights on the online auction powerhouse, eBay. eBay wasn't new, having been founded in 1995, but as technology made it possible for more and more people to get online in the early 2000s, the website quickly turned into the world's largest garage sale, with users selling and purchasing everything from ultra rare collectibles to the totally absurd. In 2003, Meg Whitman, then CEO of eBay, invited Al to perform the song at the eBay Live! convention. Backing Al were several boy band lookalikes , who lip synced the backing vocals and added choreographed dance steps. As eBay grew into one of the largest companies in the world, this song's popularity grew. About 3 1/2 years after its release, the song charted on the Billboard charts, making it Al's first, and only, song to chart without an accompanying single.

"YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE"
Points: 90
Highest ranking: #1
Album: Off The Deep End
Track number: 11
Single B-side: "I Was Only Kidding"
Style: Original

"You Don't Love Me Anymore" is one of Al's many demented love songs. In this one, the narrator is oblivious to his girlfriend's harmful and deadly actions. It is one of the few originals to get any kind of significant radio airplay, as stations usually ignore the originals in favor of the parodies. In the Philippines, the song was remixed into a disco version, which is an odd choice, since the original song is a ballad. On many copies of the Off The Deep End CD, the track containing the song includes 10 minutes of silence, before obnoxiously breaking the silence with the loud screaming and cheering that makes up the song, "Bite Me." While the song wasn't inspired by any band in particular, the music video is a parody of 'More Than Words' by Extreme, and picks up where the "Smells Like Nirvana" music video ends. The video contains a cameo appearance by the late Robert Goulet, During the filming of the video, Steve Jay chipped his tooth while biting into the big chunk of ham, when he accidentally bit the fork along with it. You can actually see him wince in pain. The video also fell victim to a practical joker who attached a condom to the end of a golf club. By the time Al noticed, it was too late to re-shoot the scene.
